This report shows that transesophageal ethocardiography can detect thoracic
pathology, in this case esophageal sarcoma, as well as cardiac and aortic
abnormalities. Transesophageal echocardiography can help differentiate card
iac from aortic or other intrathoracic pathology when the patient's history
and physical examination do not provide enough information.
