PEAQ - The ITU standard for objective measurement of perceived audio quality

Perceptual coding of audio signals is increasingly used in the transmission and storage of high-quality digital audio, and there is a strong demand fo r an acceptable objective method to measure the quality of such signals. A new measurement method is described that combines ideas from several earlie r methods. The method should meet the requirements of the user community, a nd it has been recommended by ITU Radiocommunication study groups.
