Abstract
Fourteen complexes of lanthanide(III) ions with phenylalanine in presence o f nitrate or perchlorate as counter anions have been synthesised in solid s tate. All these complexes have the general formulae [Ln(Phe)(3)(NO3)(3)] an d [Ln(Phe)(3)(ClO4)(2)]ClO4, where Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy and Y, and P he = phenylalanine.
