Electrical conductivity of polycrystalline gadolinium substituted manganese
-zinc (Mn-Zn) ferrite was investigated from room temperature to well beyond
the Curie temperature. Plots of log(sigma T) vs. 1000/T show a transition
near the Curie temperature. The activation energy in the ferrimagnetic regi
on is in general less than that in the paramagnetic region. An attempt is m
ade to explain the conduction mechanism in these ferrites. (C) 2000 Elsevie
