Abdominal masses in children are uncommon, Ovarian neoplasms are uncommon i
n young children and adolescents, and typically are benign. Small cell carc
inoma of the ovary is an extremely rare condition, with a very poor prognos
is. We report the case of a 15-year-old female who presented to the emergen
cy department with abdominal distention, abnormal vaginal bleeding, and con
stipation secondary to a large intra-abdominal mass, ultimately diagnosed a
s ovarian small cell carcinoma.
