Abstract
A completely automated crystal spectrometer has been realized. It is c omputer driven by a Macintosh computer using the LabVIEW graphical int erfacing and driving software. The spectrometer uses charge coupled de vice detectors for online read out of collected x-ray spectra. It may work under vacuum conditions and it has been tested with a Nd laser-pl asma x-ray source using Al targets. (C) 1997 American Institute of Phy sics.
