A one-dimensional spin-1/2 dimerized linear antiferromagnetic Heisenbeg cha
in is investigated basing on the continuum representation of the model Hami
ltonian at zero temperature. The dependence of the energy gap and the energ
y density of the ground state upon the distortion strength of the model is
obtained. It is shown that there exists a pure power law behavior, which is
close to the results predicted by other authors.
