Abstract
The N-14(n(th),p)C-14 reaction cross section was determined at the high flu x reactor of the ILL in Grenoble using various polyimide and adenine sample s. We obtained a precise value of (1.93+/-0.05)b for the cross section. A c omparison is made with the currently available results in the literature an d the astrophysical context is briefly discussed. Also the previously deter mined O-17(n(th),alpha)C-14 cross section is renormalized taking into accou nt this new result.
