S. Gupta et al., Complete and incomplete fusion of C-12 with Ho-165 below 7 MeV/nucleon: Measurements and analysis of excitation functions - art. no. 064613, PHYS REV C, 6106(6), 2000, pp. 4613
This experiment has been done with a view to studying complete and incomple
te fusion in heavy-ion-induced reactions. Excitation functions for several
reactions induced by C-12(5+) ions on Ho-165 at incident energies from 55 t
o 80 MeV have been measured using the activation technique. The analysis of
the data has been done using the codes ALICE-91 and CASCADE. The parameter
F-theta, the ratio of actual moment of inertia to the rigid-body value, ha
s been found to play an important role in the calculations done by the code
CASCADE. Significant contributions from both the complete and the incomple
te fusion channels have been observed. Further, in the case of the reaction
(C,p3n) considerable contribution from the decay of higher charge isobar p
recursor has been observed.
