Abstract
weight of Fruit. Cultivars Monte Carlo Lot. 7789967, Summer Flavor, Celebri ty, Boa, and Contessa were superior for these variables, whereas cultivars Binge, Santiago and Floradade showed lower values. Physiological characteri stics were not different in cultivars. Differences by dates of evaluation, time of day and leaf position were observed. Photosynthesis measured agains t dates of evaluation :- as better in the first and fourth evaluation, wher eas stomatal conductance, transpiration, and water-use effciency were bette r in the fifth and sixth evaluation; a high correlation between these varia bles was found. Photosynthesis and mater-use efficiency were better at 9:00 and 12:00 in the upper leaf, whereas stomatal conductance and transpiratio n were better in the afternoon (15:00 h) in the lower leaf Cultivar Santiag o showed less phosynthetic ratio but high water use efficiency; Floradade s howed an opposite response.
