The antifungal properties of an extract of Sargassum filipendula and of the
commercial product Algaenzims were compared on Aspergillus niger, A. flavu
s, A parasiticus, Penicillium sp., Fusarium oxysporum, Candida albicans y C
. rugosa. The extract of S filipendula inhibited growth of all fungi at dif
ferent concentrations. However, Algaenzim did not inhibit growth of any of
the fungi under the conditions of the test.
