This paper presents the evidence for the role of turbulence-driven poloidal
flow generation in the LH transition induced by a turbulent heating pulse
on the HT-6M tokamak. It is found that the poloidal flow v(theta) plays a k
ey role in developing the electric field E-r and triggering the transition.
The acceleration of v(theta) across the transition is clearly correlated w
ith the enhancement of the Reynolds stress gradient.
