Abstract
The idea is suggested that the neoclassical tearing modes in shear-optimize d discharges in tokamaks can be suppressed by a magnetic well. It is noted that this effect can be strengthened by shaping magnetic surfaces due to th e combined influence of ellipticity and triangularity. (c) 2000 MAIK "Nauka /Interperiodica".
