Methodological issues in the study of parents participation ill school acti
vities We study some of the methodological difficulties that emerge at the
moment of investigating the implication of parents in the formal education
of their children. Our own theoretical model, as well as several instrument
s designed to measure that construct have been developed inspired in Martin
et Gonzalez(1995). Several questionnaires addressed to parents, children an
d teachers were used. The sample was formed by 789 pupils (415 female and 3
74 male), from public and private schools. Factor analysis and other correl
ational analyses were carried out. Main results are discussed and analysed.
