Separation of pure Sr-90 from strontium concentrates (after extraction reco
very of strontium from tailings) by displacement complexing chromatography
on a sulfonic cation-exchange resin in the Ni form is studied. The eluent w
as a mixture of EDTA and ammonium acetate. High-purity strontium thus isola
ted was used to prepare Sr-90 for nuclear medicine.
