Abstract
A 48-yr-old woman, with a previous history of neurosurgical intervention fo r a trigeminal neurinoma, presented with acute meningitis due to Streptococ cus salivarius. There were significant changes in the petrous region, as re vealed by MRI, leading to the diagnosis of associated latent subacute masto iditis.
