Ga. Stanciu et Ek. Polychroniadis, Surface investigations on HgBr2 single crystals by using confocal scanninglaser microscopy, SCANNING, 22(3), 2000, pp. 182-186
A confocal scanning later microscope operating at 514 and 488 nm has been u
sed to obtain two-dimensional (2-D) images of the: mercuric bromide (HgBr2)
crystal surface by photoluminescence, reflection, and transmission phenome
na. Our measurements indicate that regions showing a strong photoluminescen
ce may appear on the surface. By processing the 2-D images, we obtained the
three-dimensional images, which offer a better possibility for the investi
gation. The analysis of spectral lines may be correlated with the presence
of the Hg impurities.
