Abstract
The new complexes [Ru-II(bpy)(2)L](PF6) and [Ru-III(bpy)(2)Cl-2]X (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; HL = acetylacetone, trifluoroacetylacetone, hexafl uoroacetylacetone, dibenzolymethane or tropolone; X = IO4 and PF6) hav e been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic measurements and al so investigated by cyclic voltammetry. They effectively catalyze the o xidation of alcohols, 3,5-di-t-bulycatechol and alkane in the presence of t-butyl hydroperoxide or N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide as co-oxidants .
