Abstract
The behaviour of the Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) and de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) quantum oscillations is studied in the quasi-two-dimensional organic metal (ET)(8)[Hg4Cl12(C6H5Cl)(2)] at various magnetic field orientations. It is s hown that the oscillatory data are in agreement with previous Fermi surface (FS) calculations. FS is composed of one-electron and one-hole cylinder wi th their axes perpendicular to the conducting plane. Their cross-section ar ea corresponds to similar to 11% of the first Brillouin zone area. In addit ion to the frequency associated to these orbits, the frequencies of quantum oscillations connected most probably with the magnetic breakdown effect we re observed both for Shubnikov-de Haas and de Haas-van Alphen oscillations.
