Monodispersed spherical Eu2O3 ultrafine particles were successfully prepare
d by calcinating the precusor precipitate Eu(OH)CO3. H2O particles obtained
by aging a Eu(NO3)(3) solution in the presence of urea. The effect of vari
ous reaction conditions such as the concentration of urea and Eu(NO3)(3), a
nd the pH on the resulting particles was investigated and the optimal prepa
ration conditions were obtained. XRD, IR, TG, TEM and specific surface area
measurement techniques were used to characterize the obtained samples.
