Abstract
An allpass-based diffuse reverberator with explicit control of reverberatio n time vs frequency is derived from a simple physical model. The resulting equations are closely related to the well-known equations given by Sabine a nd Eyring for real rooms. In addition only a single complex filter is requi red for the implementation of arbitrary frequency characteristics, making t his type of reverberator an efficient component in real-time applications s uch as auditory virtual environments.
