Abstract
The aim of this study was to demonstrate a method of assembling a profile o f residents in a special dementia hostel (SDH) in order to provide informat ion on the characteristics of the residents, the purpose of the unit and it s relationship to other residential facilities for people with dementia. Th e method consisted of gathering information on twelve residents from three sources - rating scales, behaviour mapping and interviews with relatives.
