Abstract
Invariance principles are proved under diffusive scaling for the centered p osition of a tagged particle in the simple exclusion process with asymmetri c nonzero drift jump probabilities in dimensions d greater than or equal to 3. The method or proof is by martin-gale techniques which rely on the fact that symmetric random walks are transient in high dimensions. (C) 2000 Joh n Wiley & Sons, Inc.
