25 years of ecological modelling by Ecological Modelling

The statistics given in Volume 100 have been updated and are given in this paper. The trends from 1996 have continued, which implies that the number o f papers about terrestrial ecosystems and the theoretical aspects, modellin g methods and systems ecology, have increased. A slight increase of the pap ers focusing on ecotoxicology has also been observed since the seventies. T en more countries have published in the journal during the last three years , illustrating that interest in modelling is becoming increasingly internat ional. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
