Abstract
Electric field periodic poling of 3mm thick stoichiometric lithium niobate is reported for the first time. The appropriate poling field strength was f ound to be as low as 200V/mm two orders of magnitude lower than in congruen t material, and 20 times lower than in previously published results obtaine d with near-stoichiometric crystals.
