Introducing critical appraisal

All health-care professionals are being encouraged to use research evidence more in developing their clinical practice. To do this they need to inculc ate the skills of 'critical appraisal'. Such skills involve assessing the a ppropriateness of research designs for answering clinical questions, critiq uing the quality of the data gathering in individual studies, and assessing the implications of research findings.
