Abstract
An empirical model based on dimensional analysis has been developed,to pred ict the heat transfer coefficient in fluidized bed. To verify the model, a series of experiments were conducted in a cylindrical reactor, with an insi de diameter (I.D.) of 142 mm and a height of 1 m, having a spherical copper heater. Experiments were performed at agas velocity ranging from 0.02 - 1. 5 m/s, and for five different solid particles. The predicted results were c ompared with the data of the present experiments, as well as with models an d experimental data of other investigators. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
