Abstract
A novel method for the preparation of immobilized alpha-, beta-, and gamma- cyclodextrins (alpha-, beta-, or gamma-CD) on polypropylene (PP) nonwoven f abrics is presented. These new materials were prepared by graft-polymerizat ion of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) onto PP filters using the electron-beam technique, followed by coupling of alpha-, beta-, and gamma-CDs with the ep oxide group. Optimization of various reaction parameters such as time, temp erature, irradiation dose, monomer, and CD concentration was carried out. ( C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
