Abstract
Crystal structure of inclusion complex of 5, 17-di-t-butyl-26, 28-disubstit uted calix[4]arene 3 with acetone, [(C54H58N2O6 . CH3COCH3) . 2CH(3)COCH(3) ], was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. It possesses space gr oup C2/c, with a = 26.277(8), b = 12.967(5), c = 20.355(4) Angstrom, beta = 124.845(14)degrees, and D-calc = 1.173 mg/m(3) for Z = 4. Crystal data ind icate that action of one molecule of compound 3 upon three molecules of ace tone forms a clathrate intermolecular inclusion complex.
