Abstract
Results concerning linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) displace ment sensor using as movable core glass-covered amorphous wires are present ed. The LVDT response is linear for a displacement of the movable core up t o about 14 mm, with an accuracy of 1 mu m. LVDT using glass-covered amorpho us wire as an active core presents a high sensitivity and good mechanical a nd corrosion resistance. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved .
