Abstract
Comparative laboratory test results for seven internal plastic coatings, ev aluated for use in sweet oil well service, are provided. The coatings evalu ation program included autoclave, rocker arm, acid resistance, wireline abr asion, and impact resistance tests. Tests were designed to compare coating performance under harsh conditions such as high water production, temperatu re up to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), and high carbon dioxide (CO2) gas c oncentration. Test results showed substantial performance differences among the internal coatings, and no single coating performed best in all tests.
