Abstract
In the oil industry, a major area of concern in equipment performance testi ng is corrosion inspection and monitoring of used oil well tubing, An impro ved, high-resolution, computerized inspection and monitoring instrument emp loys the magnetic flux leakage method to inspect pitting corrosion and wall thinning caused by relatively large areas of corrosion. It also allows the survey of corrosion growth. The in-situ instrument makes oil well tubing o perations safer, more reliable, and less expensive.
