Excited states of the Cs-122 nucleus have been studied by in-beam gamma-ray
spectroscopy with the Ag-109(O-16, 3n)Cs-122 fusion-evaporation reaction a
t a beam energy of 80 MeV. gamma-gamma coincidence and gamma-gamma angular
correlation analyses were employed for determining the level scheme of Cs-1
22. We have determined the spin of the pi h(11/2) circle times vh(11/2) qua
siparticle band with spin inversion structure and the negative-parity band
with strongly coupled structure. These two rotational bands are found to be
built on the same high-spin isomeric 8(-) state at 500 keV. In addition, t
hree rotational bands have been newly identified in the present work. (C) 2
