Abstract
Fuzzy classification with fuzzy if-then rules suffers from the problem of p attern space partitioning, to reach a compact set of rules that provides hi gh classification power. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical fuzzy par tition method based on 2(N)-tree decomposition. This decomposition is contr olled by the grade of certainty of the generated rules for each fuzzy subsp ace and the deeper hierarchical level allowed. The performance of the propo sed method is examined by the computer simulation using Iris data of Fisher . The proposed method is also compared with other fuzzy classification meth ods.
