Abstract
Nitrobenzene carbonylation to give methyl N-phenylcarbamate was studied in the presence of palladium catalysts. The influence of initial CO pressure, temperature, and initial reactant mole ratio on the principal parameters of the process was determined. Comparative studies on palladium catalysts for nitrobenzene carbonylation, the in situ systems PdCl2 + Py and PdCl2 + PPh 3, and the individual complexes PdPy2Cl2 and Pd(PPh3)(2)Cl-2 were carried o ut.
