In the last yeas. a great interest has focused on the development of select
ive and sensitive sensors for the control, of pollutant processes. The aim
of this work is to develop evanescent wave transducers with enhanced specif
icity and selectivity to be used as immunosensors of organic contaminants.
The sensors are based on "ARROW" (Anti Resonant Reflecting Optical Waveguid
es) structures as optimized transducers with a Mach-Zehnder interferometric
configuration and are fabricated with standard Silicon microelectronics te
chnology. The design, fabrication and preliminary results of the transducer
s will be shown.
