Abstract
We propose and approximately solve the problem of an existing Cooper pair s ystem under the presence of an external periodic potential. Expressions for the energy gap and the critical superconducting temperature for a supercon ductor under these conditions are calculated, both quantities being affecte d by the external potential, although their ratio remains unchanged.
