Abstract
Condensation of N-(3-isopentyl)-3,6-diformylcarbazole and 4-[4-[bis(2-amino ethyl)amino]phenylazo]nitrobenzene gave a new polyazomethine, Cbz1-Azo, whi ch has a good solubility in organic solvents. The polymer possessing carbaz ole moieties and azo type nonlinear optical chromophores in the polymer bac kbone showed high photoconductivity and nonlinear optical property.
