A new chemiluminescence (CL) flow-injection method was proposed for the det
ermination of ofloxacin in pharmaceuticals in the range 0.04-4 mu g ml(-1)
with a detection limit of 0.016 mu g ml(-1) and a relative standard derivat
ion (R.S.D.) of 2.2% at 0.4 mu g ml(-1) (n=10). The method is based on the
CL reaction of cerium(IV) with sulphite sensitized by ofloxacin. The establ
ished procedure could be applied to the determination of ofloxacin in table
t, capsule and injection in agreement with the results obtained by using re
