Abstract
A numerical model of a moving chemical bed reactor for gasifying coal using concentrated solar radiation is proposed. It permits the determination of the temperature profiles for both the gas and the solid phases, the velocit y and the pressure drop profiles as a function of control parameters such a s incident radiative flux, gas flow rate and particle size. The results of this model are in a satisfactory agreement with the experiment ones. (C) 20 00 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
