Abstract
The excitation spectra for ((Xi)-Be-12) and ((Xi)-C-16) are obtained in the frame of a shell model. The experimental values of the ground state bindin g energies of the Xi(-) hyperon in ((Xi)-Be-12) and ((Xi)-C-16) are used to determine the well depth of the Xi(-)-nucleus potential. The information o n the residual interaction is emphasized. It is found that the residual int eraction does not have much effect on the spectra of the Xi(-)-hypernucleus .
