Z. Tao et al., Morphological investigation of styrene and acrylamide polymer microspheresprepared by dispersion copolymerization, COLLOID P S, 278(6), 2000, pp. 509-516
The morphology of the styrene and acrylamide copolymer microspheres prepare
d by dispersion copolymerization in an ethanol/ water medium was investigat
ed. The effects of the styrene/acrylamide ratio, ethanol/water ratio and st
abilizer concentration on the particle size and size distribution were stud
ied. It was found that the initial solubility parameter of the system was t
he key factor in the process. The comonomer acrylamide also played an impor
tant role in the particle size and size distribution in the presence of cro
ss-linking agent (divinylbenzene).
