Abstract
As global malaria mortality increases the urgency for Vaccine development, analysis of immune responses in naturally exposed populations is providing clues to the nature of protective immunity. Recently, sophisicated immune e vasion strategies adopted by the parasite have been analysed at the molecul ar level. More immunogenic vaccination strategies have been identified, pro viding renewed optimism that effective malaria control through vaccination should be feasible.
