Abstract
Low energy picosecond pulses at 1.5 mu m have been completely characterised by sonogram measurements based on mio photon absorption in a commercial In GaAsP 1.3 mu m laser diode. The intensity and phase of pulses with 12pJ ene rgy are in excellent agreement with those obtained from an independent freq uency resolved optical gating characterisation.
