Abstract
To suppress multiple access interference (MAT) and inter-symbol interferenc e (ISI) present in the uplink of a wavelet packet multiple access system (W PMA), a method comprising a wavelet packet function based RAKE, followed by a multi-channel decision feedback equaliser (DFE), is proposed to retrieve the transmitted signals for each user. In addition, the diversity combinin g technique is applied to combat the deep fading encountered in mobile chan nels. Simulation results show that, once the WPMA system transfers signals over time-varying Rayleigh fading channels, the receiver is very effective in combatting interference.
