Abstract
Objective To report an unusual complication of total laparoscopic hysterect omy. Setting Gynaecology Department at Carmel Medical Centre, Haifa, Israel. Subject and interventions A 40-year-old woman underwent total laparoscopic hysterectomy and developed small-bowel obstruction 3 days following the ope ration subsequent to incarcerated hernia through a 12-mm laparoscopic troca r wound. The diagnosis was eventually made with the aid of abdominal comput erized tomography. Conclusion All laparoscopic surgeons should be aware of this uncommon compl ication of operative laparoscopy, its clinical presentation, and the imagin g modalities for its diagnosis.
