Abstract
The title azooximes PhNNC(R)NOH, HRL (R = Me, Ph), 1, have afforded [Ag(MeL )(HMeL)(2)](2), 2, and [Ag(PhL)(HPhL)](2), 3. In 2, only oxime N is coordin ated and the AgN3 fragment has a distorted-T shape. In 3, the ligand is che lating, the AgN4 tetrahedron being highly squashed. Strong O ... O hydrogen bonds characterize the species. The Ag Ag distances are, respectively, sho rter and longer than the van der Waals sum in 3 and 2.
