Abstract
Numerical simulation of the non-steady state deformation behavior around th e head and tail ends during slab edging is carried out by the full three-di mensional rigid-plastic finite element method. The calculated shape of the slab edged, separating force and rolling torque are shown to be in good agr eement with the experimental results found in the literature and the calcul ation precision is improved to a certain extent compared with previous work s.
