Abstract
in this work we discuss properties of excitons in quantum well structures o f CdTe/CdMnTe. We analyse exciton-phonon interaction of strongly localised excitons by studying the temperature dependence of photoluminescence (PL) ( width and spectral position of PL lines) and PL dynamics. Evidence of a slo w exciton migration/tunnelling among localised sites is presented and its e ffect on the luminescence spectrum and exciton dynamics is discussed. We sh ow that strong localisation of excitons, observed at low temperatures, resu lts in quasi-zero-dimensional nature of excitons. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
