Abstract
Precise EXAFS (Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure) study of CuBr crystals, carried out in the temperature range from 300 to 631 K, lea ds to the fact that a potential minimum position for the nearest neigh bor pairs of Cu and Br ions decreases monotonically. The mean interato mic distance, however, totally expands due to anharmonic vibrations wi th an increase in temperature. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
